Mary Alice (Garrett) Martin

She was predeceased by her parents, Lebius Guy Garrett and Ruth Ann Howard Garrett and siblings, Charles Howard Garrett, Ruth Ann Garrett Kessler and Robert Guy Garrett.

She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Adair Garrett Faulkner; her two daughters, Michele Martin Trainer (Rick), Ginger Martin Cates (Bradley); 4 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Mary Alice was a graduate of Buckhannon Upsher High School, West Virginia 1950, Marshall College-Teachers College with a Bachelor of Arts 1954, Miami University Masters of Education 1965 and Ohio State University- PhD Education 1973.

She retired from Collier County Schools in Florida in 1998

Among her many interests, Mary was a Music Major- Coloratura Soprano who enjoyed singing, playing piano and other instruments, Master Gardener who loved to do yard work for hours to produce Beautiful Floral Landscapes, lover of animals caring for many domesticated and feral cats. She was a very active co-owner of 3 Curves fitness centers, loved to Folk and Belly dance. She volunteered at St. Mary’s (Franklin) dinners, St. Paul’s (Franklin) Children’s Charities and an Election Poll worker.

Mary was Very Spiritual and attended Sathya Sai Center of Cincinnati and Dayton and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church , 500 East Second Street, Franklin with Reverend Ron Mueller officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
