Luther Johnson

Luther Amos Johnson, Sr., age 90 of Carlisle, Ohio passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Kettering Medical Center – Franklin. Luther was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on February 16, 1935, to the late George and Mary (Turner) Johnson. He retired from General Electric in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 1997 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Rose Chapel Baptist Church in West Carrollton, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Bertha Deaton, Callie Johnson and Marie Johnson and six brothers, Astor, Roy, Robert, Eulibee, Sigel and Roscoe Johnson; and son Luther Johnson, Jr.

Luther is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sandra (Behan), his children Brenda Danaei, Linda Wingard, Donna England (Dave) and Scott Holliday; grandchildren Jessica Colon (Pedro), Jamie Schmidt (Cameron), Jason Wingard, Krystal Winkleman (Jereme), Drew England (Rachel), Morgan Butler (Derrick); and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St, Franklin, Ohio. Funeral service to be held immediately following at 1 PM with Pastor Sam Vanhoose officiating. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Miamisburg.
