Jay Shadle

Jay Homer Shadle, age 63, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Life Care Hospitals of Dayton, Ohio following a brief illness. He was born May 3, 1951 to Homer and Kathleen (Lovett) Shadle in Elwood, Pennsylvania. On November 24, 1972, he married Phyllis Hammon in Marion, Ohio. A practicing podiatrist in Springboro, Ohio, Jay was actively involved in the community as a former member of Franklin City Council and Optimist International and as a charter member of the Franklin Recreation Association.

Jay is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of more than 41 years; his two sons, Jason Shadle of Philadelphia, PA, and Paul Shadle of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Judy Bean of Cardington, OH, and Jill Thacker of Forest, OH; two brothers, Jeff Shadle of Findlay, OH, and Jan Shadle of Jenera, OH as well as many other loving family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Homes, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, Ohio. Friends may call between 3:00 and 6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to a charitable organization of their choice in memory of Dr. Shadle.
