David was born in Framingham on March 22, 1995 to Robert and Vanessa (Rudisill) Stern. He attended Framingham public schools and graduated from FHS in 2013. A tremendous accomplishment was earning his Boy Scout Eagle designation in 2013. He went on to graduate from Westfield State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, which was a great achievement.
He enjoyed attending music festivals and selling his own creations as well as those of others. He founded the on-line business, Another Neighborhood, to sell his own and others artwork. He designed pins for bands such as Twiddle and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and was well known within those music circles. He also loved animals, especially his cat, Princess, who took care of him always.
As word of his death spread, so many people told us they remembered him as one of the most kind and helpful people they had ever met and are extremely saddened by his loss. Hearing this has helped us deal with our loss.
David leaves behind his brother, Matthew and his wife Briana, his grandmother, Barbara Rudisill of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mental illness is a tremendous problem in this state and in this country. Resources are scarce and getting help can be nearly impossible. David was trying to get help, but it became too difficult. Something has got to change. People with mental illness can be treated terribly by other people, simply because they are afraid of something they don’t understand and react with bullying and ostracism rather than kindness.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember David’s life will be held on Friday, November 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
Donations in David’s memory can be made to any humane society or mental health organization of your choice.
