Martha “Stella” (Jones) Hill, former longtime resident of Colorado Springs passed away on July 16, 2014 in Overland Park, Kansas after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on October 24, 1921 to William and Vassie Jones, who preceded her in death along with seven siblings. In 1942 she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Ernest Hill and for the next 62 years followed him all around the world while he served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1969 they retired in Colorado Springs and continued their travels via RV. Bob preceded her in death in 2004 and, once again she has gone to join him, this time in Heaven. She is survived by one sister, Willene Baron of Clarkesville, Georgia and one brother, George (Peggy) Jones of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Also surviving is her daughter Marty (Joe), son Mark (Mercedes), four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jodi), Aubrey, Angela (Shawn) and Kenneth and 3 great-grandchildren David, Katie and Ethan. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday the 24th from 6:00-8:00pm at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87, Fountain, Colorado with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Friday the 25th at 12:00 pm. The family wishes to thank all those at Brookdale Hospice and Freedom Pointe Assisted Living for all the wonderful care given to Martha and to her family during her stay.
