Born August 29, 1929, in Webster SD, to John and
Marie (Kapphahn) Senske.After graduating from High School in
1949 he went on to Auctioneer School.On September 24, 1951
he married Rita Gaikowski in Grenville, SD.He had an extensive
career in the US Army retiring in 1978. He enjoyed dances with
Rita, playing the accordion for family and friends, watching bull riding,
working in the garage, and being there for his family.
George worked for Coca Cola, “ring man” at the SD Livestock Sales,
Brookharts and Hugh M Woods.George started his Custom Horseshoe
Crafts & Gifts in the early 1980's. He sold to gift Shops, western stores,
craft shows, Little Britches National Rodeo, Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, etc.
George was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church where he served
as an usher. He was a 4th Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus, also
belonging to VFW, REA and Eagles Lodge.George is survived by his
beloved wife of 60 years, Rita Gaikowski, daughters Mary Ellen Senske and
Michelle (Senske) Frizzell-Thompson, and her husband Jim Thompson;
grandsons, Joshua and Justin; granddaughters, Crystal, Amber,
Danielle and Sierra.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was,preceded in death by his parents, brother Edwin, sister Alice and
infant brother James.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 on Wednesday, followed by a rosary at
6 at Dove Witt on 85/87 in Fountain, CO Funeral services will be held at
St. Dominic's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. in Security, CO
on Thursday May 24th followed by a graveside service at Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Dominic's Building Fund.
