It is with great sadness that the Ford family announces the death of Charles “Chuck” Edwin Ford. He passed on February 1, 2022, at age 72, with his devoted family at his side. The family asks for your thoughts and prayers while they grieve.
He was born on November 16, 1949, he grew up in Durango, Colorado, and was married to the love of his life, Sally, for 47 years. They have four children, Barbara Wenzel, Tanya Dobbin, Chad Ford, Victoria Ford and a foster son, Mark. They also have thirteen grandchildren, Loy, Evan, Steven, Ian, Taliah, Jadin, Jazelle, Kohen, Austyn, Robert, Cerenity, Anais, Ely, and four great grandchildren, Erik, MiraJane, Eminence, and Naveen, who were all the light of Chuck’s life. Chuck is also survived by his brother David Ford of Kansas, his sister Mary Ellen Dalia of Nebraska and sister Jeannie Soiu of Colorado.
Chuck was a double war veteran, serving in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was a great Husband, father and soldier. He also loved his community. Chuck and Sally co-owned Trophy Express in the former Fountain Valley Shopping Center. He was a member of the Fountain Chamber of Commerce, Optimist Club, and helped organize the Fountain Fall Festival for many years. Those that know Chuck will agree he was a diehard Bronco’s fan, loved wood working, playing piano, and he was a wonderful artist. He was always making us laugh with his jokes. He will truly be missed.
