Willie Mae or Mamaw, as her family affectionately called her, was born in Meridian, Texas on August 7, 1920, as the third daughter of Waldemar Olson and Orelia Knudson Olson. She spent most of her early years growing up on a farm in Cranfills Gap, Texas along with her three brothers and two sisters which gave her a lifelong love of family and growing vegetables, fruits and flowers. On January 1, 1942, Willie Mae married Clyde Edwin Morris of Handley, Texas. They enjoyed sixty years of marriage until Clyde’s death in 2002.
Willie Mae is survived by her three children, Chris Morris (wife Barbara), Nancy Harper, Randy Morris (wife Jacquelyn) and seven grandchildren: Jeff Morris, Matthew Morris (Chris), Wendy Burns (Nancy), Jennifer Maroney, Michael Morris, Ryan Morris, and Andrea Donovan (Randy). In addition, eight great-grandchildren: Blake, Karsen, and Jackson Burns (Wendy and husband Brett), Dahlia Maroney (Jennifer and husband Matt), Elyse and Jameson Morris (Ryan and wife Amber) and Asher and Avery Donovan (Andrea and husband Adam). There are also numerous nieces and nephews throughout Texas and around the United States.
Willie Mae was much loved by all her family and will be greatly missed. She leaves a legacy of happiness, gentleness and goodness that will be in our hearts forever.
