"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"
Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time to be Born: The story of Wanda Jean Williams life began Sunday, March 4, 1951. God made the
perfect to allow Mrs. Billie Jean Walker Hamilton to continue her legacy by bringing forth a life that would
impact the world in many ways. Our story begins in Waco, Texas. Little did everyone know, this beautiful,
smiling baby girl would bring so much joy to those around her. Little Wanda was a sweet, kindhearted, and loving child. She was raised by her loving parents: L.M. and Billie Jean Hamilton. She was the oldest of 4 children born to this union.
A Time to Build: During this time young Wanda did what most children do: she went to school, she went
to church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a early age, she loved her family, she made friends, both far and near, and most of all, she continued to Smile. Wanda completed her education at R.L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas as the member of the Class of 1969. Wanda then attended Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth, Texas.
Wanda learned cooking from her mother and her grandmother growing up in the Stop Six area. Because of her love of cooking she was hired by the Hyatt Hotel as a cook in the late 70’s. This opportunity opened the door to corporate America to serve as the head cook at the American Airlines Center. This career allowed her to cook for the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars employees, the media and various clients that attend the AAC for concerts and more.
Ms. Wanda spent several years with Delaware North Cooperation as the Press Dining Attendant at Globe
Life Park and Globe Life Field. Ms. Wanda was a fixture at Rangers home games for everyone in the Press Box, servicing employees and media members with a direct style and spirited personality. Her warmth and generosity toward the press box regulars was constant, as was her firm enforcement of Press Dining Rules. She continued to work with the organization until her health failed in 2022.
Ms. Wanda became a member of Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of
Pastor Kennedy Jones. She remained a faithful member until her health failed.
A Time to Embrace: Ms. Wanda was blessed to expand her family and thus she welcomed a bouncing baby girl, Felecia Michell, to this world. Of course, Ms. Wanda was overjoyed with her baby girl. They traveled together, they went shopping together, and many other activities. Ms. Wanda look forward to her "Mother-Daughter" time with Felecia. They were inseparable until the Lord called Ms. Wanda’s name.
A Time to Sleep: On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Ms. Wanda departed this life to her heavenly home. God
whispered so sweetly to her, “your time of departure is now at hand.” God opened his arms and said “Well
done thy good and faithful servant.” Her physical life may have ended, but her eternal life begins now. The divined mandate for Wanda’s life has been fulfilled. Her life is complete, but the remainder of her book is now being written through the lives of her child and grandsons. Her legacy lives on. Her smile will forever be seen and remembered. Her story is not over, it is just beginning.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents: L.M. and Billie Jean Hamilton; one sister, Janet Marie.
Wanda leaves to cherish her Memory: her only daughter: Felecia Michell Jones and her Son-In-Love Marlon Jones. Her loving grandsons: Marlon Jones, Jr. (Camille) and Marcus Jones. Her sisters: Pamela Holbert, Rosiland Ivory (Tony). Her 2 beloved nephews: Don Hamilton (Kim), Trayon Ivory; nieces, relatives and friends.
