Vivienne "Chick" Leach, 91, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, after a bout with cancer. Chick was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Austin to William and Blanche Baker. She studied journalism at University of Texas at Austin. There she met the love of her life, James P. Leach Sr., while he was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base. They married Dec. 12, 1945, and were happily married for 57 years. Chick was a lifelong member and volunteer worker at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Worth. She was a Mary Kay beauty consultant for 20 years and loved every minute of it. She loved music and was a member of Sweet Adelines Singing Group for many years. She loved her family and was an avid sports fan and lived for watching her Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers! Chick was preceded in death by her husband, James P. "Jim" Leach. Survivors: Sons, Perry Leach and wife, Debra, Bruce Leach; daughter, Lisa Leach Hartley; grandchildren, Casey Hartley and Erika Leach Sorrelle; sister, Jeannette Sledge; loving nieces, nephews and friends.
