Sonya Bernetta SHELTON, age 81, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Sonya was born January 26, 1941, She was the oldest of eight children born to Bennie Ree Roblow, Sr. and Bernice Rosetta Moffett-Roblow. Sonya was reared in a loving, nurturing home with an unbreakable love, respect and friendship bond. As a young girl, she and her family belonged to Wayside Church Of God In Christ, Fort Worth, Texas. Sonya loved life and was the Matriarch of her family. She was deeply loved and adored by her siblings. Sonya lived life to the fullest. She was a graduate of I.M. Terrell High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Eugene O. Shelton, then moved to California. They became the proud parents of two girls, Tammy and Dana. Sonya owned "Sonya's Tonsorial Salon" in California where she was a licensed barber. She also worked as a welder at National Steel Shipyard. Later in life, she returned to Texas and then united as a Forest Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church member. She was an active part of the usher board. She was also a companion caregiver until retirement. She was prededed in death by her parents, Bennie and Bernice Roblow; her daughter, Dana J. Shelton and her brother Bennie Roblow, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Tammy A. Shelton-Thomas (Frederick); her only granddaughter, Tiffany Shelton; siblings, Yolanda Jones-Doiley, Brenda Roblow, Evelyn Miles-Jones, Dayron Miles, Walter Miles Jr. and Paul Miles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
