Sherrel COMPTON-SPELLS, age 47, of Burleson, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Sherrel Marie Compton-Spells was born May 21, 1974 to Thaddeus Braud and Mary Compton in New Orleans Louisiana. She relocated to Georgia after Hurricane Katrina and later set roots in Burleson Texas in 2016.
Sherrell accepted Christ at an early age and dedicated her live to his service. She was an ordained minister, mentor, and counselor. An alumnus of John McDonough Senior High School. Sherrell graduated in 1992 and furthered her studies at Southern University of New Orleans. Sherrell was multi-talented and pursued many passions. She was well educated and received several degrees. Most recently she worked as a phlebotomist for Quest Diagnostics. She was an entrepreneur and created a clothing line entitled, “Fearlessly Made,” to empower and encourage women and fellow cancer patients alike.
Sherrell lived life to the fullest and was the life of every party. She was loved by many and a stranger to none.
Sherrel embodied New Orleans through and through… from the saints to the second line, Sherrel breathed and loved all things New Orleans.
Sherrell departed life on August 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by both parents, maternal grandmother Dorothy Bright, Uncle Michael Bright, Two brothers Thaddeus Braud Jr. and James Brown, Sister Diana Wallace and son Frederick Crosby Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory. Her loving wife Judy Compton-Spells of Fort Worth Texas, Daughters Adrienne Compton and Ariane Compton of Houston of Texas. Son Nicholas (Monica) Spells of Fort Worth Texas. A close cousin, Pete Curry.
Sherrel has 10 grandchildren who adored her, brothers, sisters, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her presence and charisma. She will be sorely mourned.
