Sally Robinson was born on June 22, 1938 to Eula and Robert Doutt in Franklin, Pa. She grew up in a beautiful, quiet town in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, where she frequently returned to as an adult to visit family. Although she graduated from Paschal High School, after moving to Fort Worth, Texas, she attended all of her high school reunions in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
After graduating high school, Sally met the love of her life, Chester Robinson. They were set up on a blind date in 1957 and the rest is history….Chester was tall, handsome, and a wonderful dancer- which checked off all of her criteria in a future spouse. A few short months later, they were married on June 14, 1957.
Sally and Chester Robinson had 3 children: Robin Milam, Amy Kitzmiller, and Robert Robinson; 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Wells, Amanda Hopkins, Emily Ricketts, Luke Robinson, and Sara Robinson; and 3 great-grandchildren: Tye Wells, Jameson Hopkins, and Kane Frailey. Her family was always first, no matter what.
Sally worked at Alcon Laboratories for over 20 years and was able to retire in her early 50’s.
She spent the remainder of her life spoiling her grandkids and traveling the world. Some of her adventures included riding trains through Europe, having luaus on the beaches of Hawaii, whale watching in Alaska, embarking on almost 60 cruise ships, and admiring the Bronze Horseman statue in St. Petersburg, Russia. All of Sally’s family would agree that she lived life to the fullest!
She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 29th 2021. Although our hearts are broken on earth, we choose to believe that she has left this world for her greatest adventure of all. Until we can be together again…It’s not goodbye, it’s just “see you later.”
“Twenty years from now
You will be more disappointed
By the things you didn’t do
Than the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover.”
-Mark Twain
