She lived in Louisiana until the age of 7, when her parents moved the family to Ft Worth. Sandra graduated from Poly High School in 1958. Upon graduation, she worked for Retail Credit Bureau. Sandra met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Offner in April,1957 and he proposed to her on May 9, 1958, the night of her senior prom. They married on June 6,1959. The couple moved to Salina, Kansas until Bob completed his time in the Air Force. In August,1960, they returned to Fort Worth where they later raised their daughter and two sons. Sandra loved the Lord, and served faithfully for four years as a church pianist at Eastland Street Baptist Church. At Handley Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 61 years, she was a teacher, children’s choir director, camp counselor and for several years served as the church secretary. Sandra loved to travel all over the world with family and friends and especially enjoyed the many vacations and camping trips with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren throughout the U.S. and to many of its national parks. She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, Grandmommy and Great Grandmommy as well as a wonderful friend. She will be so greatly missed by us all and we look forward to seeing her again one day in Heaven.
Sandra was preceded In death by her parents Ivan and Ruby Lee Dowden and her sister Sharon Watkins. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Bob Offner, children Melinda Offner Stricklin and her husband Dirk, son Robbie Offner and his wife Joy, son Danny Offner and wife Dolores, grandsons Andrew Stricklin, Jon Stricklin and his wife Hannah and their children Owen and Margaret, Ben Stricklin and his wife Yesenia, Bo Offner and his wife LeAnn and their children Ryder, Kason and Cayden, Jay Offner, Eric Offner and his wife Savannah and their children Pryce and Maddux and David Offner, brother-in-law Bob Watkins and wife Judy along with one aunt and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
