Memorial services for Richard Lee Holcomb, of Fort Worth, will be held at 11:00a.m., April 15, 2022 at Harvest Assembly of God, Fort Worth with Rev. Dale Shorter officiating. A graveside service will be held at Laurel Land cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Laurel Land from 6:00 – 8:00p.m.
Richard was born in Sterrett, Texas on December 5, 1931 to Mattie Celine Arnold and Oscar Weston Holcomb and was called home to his Lord and Savior on April 6, 2022.
Richard was a graduate of North Dallas High School in 1950. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving in Japan during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955 and began undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University studying Finance and Accounting. While in Lubbock, Richard met the love of his life, Peggy Joyce Hays, and they were married in 1956. Following his graduation from Texas Tech in 1958, Peggy & Richard moved to Fort Worth where he began his career. Richard invested the majority of his career with Gachman Metals & Recycling. At 62 he pursued his dream of becoming a Financial Advisor and Broker at Bank of America. Richard lived a life filled with love for his wife and daughters and of service to his Lord. A long time member of Harvest Assembly of God, Richard served as a worship leader, teacher, deacon and board member. He was a Gideon and board member of Christian Community Assistance.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Lisa Diane Holcomb as well as his siblings: Donald Holcomb, Joanne Wright and Maebelle Raiza.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Holcomb; daughters Tami Daniels (John) and Amy Arnold (Wes); grandchildren: Nick Daniels (Keri), Elisa Daniels, Abigail Arnold, Benjamin Arnold, Clara Arnold & David Arnold; great-granddaughter Isla Daniels; sister Vikki Blauvelt; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Richard lived a full life of honesty and integrity which flowed from his love of God’s word, passing on that legacy to his children and grandchildren. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
