Richard H. Barham passed away February 26, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Visitation: Tuesday, March 3, from 6-8 at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel & Cemetery.
Service: Wednesday, March 4, at 2pm at the funeral home, with burial to follow in the cemetery.

Richard and his twin brother Robert were born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 3, 1931. Richard graduated from Sunset High School in 1949 and was married to his high school sweetheart, Jean, in 1952. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in May 2012 and had three daughters. Richard received his B.A. degree from North Texas State University in 1952 and served in the US Navy from 1952 until 1956 as a maintenance officer in a jet squadron aboard the carrier USS Coral Sea. He worked for Mobile Oil Corporation for thirty three years from 1956 until his retirement in 1989. During that time Richard earned his PhD degree in Statistics from SMU. Following retirement from Mobile, he taught math at Dallas Baptist University for 4 years. Richard and Jean lived in Dallas, Duncanville and Arlington. He was active in his church, as a Deacon and Elder for many years at Wynnewood Presbyterian in Dallas and most recently an active member of St. Barnabas United Methodist Church in Arlington. He was also a life member of the Texas PTA.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jean, and sister-in-law, Gail.
Richard is survived by his twin brother, Robert; three daughters, Julie Sherrell and her husband Ray, Jeanie Hodde and her husband Chris, and Jill Daiber; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; nephews, nieces, as well as other relatives. Richard was truly a good and honorable man and a follower of Jesus Christ. He blessed all the lives he touched and will be greatly missed.
