Odis DAVIS, age 78, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 the sun set on the life of Odis Lee Davis. Odis was born April 2, 1942 to the parentage of Annie Mae Newman and Marvin Davis, Sr. in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the third of five children. He was educated in Fort Worth ISD and there after began working as an entrepreneur in the construction industry. He met Mae Foley and wed her on November 22, 1959 and they were married for 12 years. From this union, 4 children were born: Marlene, Victor, Marjorie and Donnie. He later fathered a son, Odis Hill. In 1975, he met and married Barbara Gunnels and after working for himself many years, he gained employment at JPS as a housekeeping supervisor. He retired and then decided to become a school crossing guard. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and spending time with his grandkids. Odis was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Davis, Sr. and Annie Mae Newman; brothers, Roy Davis, Lonnie Davis and Marvin Davis, Jr; and sister, Dorothy Davis Woodard. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 46 years, Barbara Davis; sons, Odis Hill, Victor Davis (Evelyn) and Donnie Davis (Keisha) and daughters, Marlene Barber (Walter) and Marjorie Brown. He leaves 16 grandchildren; 2 preceded him in Death, and 9 great-grandchildren.
