Odessa Marie Stone

Odessa Stone of Oakland, California was born and raised in Mount Calm, Texas to Arlene Sparks-Henderson and Eddie T. Branch. She later moved to Fort Worth, Texas and attended and graduated from Trimble Tech High School.

Odessa moved to California, where she attended college and later met and married Lawrence Stone Sr. They had a son, Lawrence Waheed Stone Jr.

Odessa worked for Contra Costa county for over 20 years, as a health medical advocate, helping her community.

Odessa loved to travel and see the world. She also loved music, dancing and good food with her family.

Preceded in death by her mother, Arlene Sparks-Henderson and father, Eddie Branch.

Three sisters, Erma Skinner, Martha Jackson and Wille Lee Bailey of Waco, Texas, Edna Henderson of Fort Worth, Texas; four brothers, Thomas Henderson, Arnesta Henderson, Frank Henderson of Fort Worth, Texas, Andy Brown of Waco, Texas.

Survivors include son Lawrence Waheed Stone (daughter in law Jaay Nicole Stone) from Phoenix, Arizona. Five grandchildren, Arries Stone, Serenity Stone and Elijah Washington from Oakland, California. Lattice Townsend from San Angelo,Texas and Lyric Stone from Phoenix, Arizona. Sister, Ruby Williams of Cedar Hill, Texas. A host of nieces and nephews from Fort Worth, Texas and Waco, Texas as well.
