Melvin Lee White was born in the small town of Cason, Texas, on May 18, 1937, to Tom and Clemmie White. The youngest of six, he was affectionately known as "TOP' to his family and loved ones.
As a young boy he loved to play sports and was extremely athletic. Basketball is where he shined with his sweet jump shot and layups. It was also during his formative years that he met Argie Nell Stern, who would later join him in marriage on June 22, 1959. Shortly after they wed, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas where they settled to begin raising their family.
Soon after moving to Fort Worth, he began working for American Airlines as a sky chef. His hard work and tenacity garnered him several positions in management and airplane parts distribution. He retired in 1999 after 40 years of dedication.
Melvin transitioned from labor to reward June 26, 2023. We find comfort in knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father.
Those who encountered Melvin know he was the kind of man that never met a stranger. His laugh would fill the room and he had a joke for every occasion. His kindness and generous spirit shone through with every interaction. He lived a good life, he took pride in the life he provided for his family and he loved unconditionally.
He is preceded by his parents, Tom and Clemmie White, his brothers, Lloyd, James, Archie, Areth and TW;h his son, Gregory B. White; and grandson, Rickey Davis, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Argie White, their children; Toni White Harrison (Oscar), Gailland White (Kriste) and Tonja Davis Black; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
