Lawrence "Larry" William Todd, age 65, of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 peacefully at home after fighting cancer for 2 years. He was born December 4, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William (Bill) Clyde Todd and Ruth Click Todd. Larry graduated from Columbus West High School in 1973 and Bluffton College in 1977. His passion was spending time on the golf course whenever possible. He caddied on the LPGA in the late 70"s and his most favorite times were with Hollis Stacy , especially in 1977 when she won the U S Women's Open. Larry never quit playing golf until the cancer made it too difficult. He worked for Structured Foundations for 11.5 years. It is owned by a friend and fellow golfer Tom Kidd and the family there gave him a reason for going on. Manager Heidi Morrison kept him in line and sent him home when he needed to not be working. This family never abandoned him during his cancer journey. During the 2 years of his illness he had angels to help him. His college roommate Don Collins and wife Linda were regular frequent visitors all the way from Florida. His golf buddies helped with doctor visits. Jerry Jarrett and Reid Shelnutt took him for lunch his last outing which he so enjoyed. During his last 3 days his friend all through childhood, Jeff Reeves, an Atlanta, Ga. resident, sat with him. Also his hospice nurse, Debbie Stephens, was a comfort and strength that was beyond belief.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister. He is survived by his wife Cindi and their 3 wirehair dachshunds, the many golfer/bowling friends he had made over the 30 + years being in Texas, 2 nephews in Ohio and distant cousins.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to First Tee (thefirsttee.org) or New Century Hospice. Expressions of love and sympathy may be shared below for the Todd family by clicking add a memory.
