Larry Donnell Johnson

Larry was born on September 11, 1952,

to the parentage of Herman and Alice Johnson. Larry

was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where he

was a beloved child. As a son of the community, Larry

accepted Christ at an early age and eventually became

a member of the Strangers Rest Baptist Church. He

began his formal education through the Fort Worth

Independent School District at Como Elementary

School. As he aged into a young man, Larry worked

at the Ridglea Country Club. After graduated from

Como High School in 1971, he returned and stayed

until he retired. Larry found a great joy in people, he

enjoyed spending time, laughing, joking and enjoying

the presence of others. He loved music , sports of all

kinds, and traveling.

ON March 4, 2024, Larry was escorted by Angels to

a place of peace on the other shore. Upon his arrival,

he was greeted by his mother, father & one brother.

Those left to cherish his memory: his wife of 25 years,

Doris Walker; his adopted daughter, Kamela; one

sister, Alice Jones; one brother, Herman Johnson; one

niece, Larhonda Harvey; one nephew, Waylon Jones;

one great great niece, Skyla Jones; two special cousins,

Douglas Carter & Joe Eddie Lee; and the host of many

other family & friends.
