Joyce was born on March 31, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to W.V. and Bertie Barbee. She was the second of four sisters, whom she loved dearly. Joyce graduated high school from Trimble Tech and later attended Sam Houston State University, where she met her husband, Kenneth Nibling, with whom she spent 58 wonderful years. After a brief period in Seattle, they settled in Fort Worth. She later worked as a secretary in the Crowley Independent School District for over twenty years, where she excelled at her job and made many friends. After retiring from the school district, she took on her favorite role of all, Nana.
Joyce loved life and loved people. Whether it was outings with her sisters, lunches with her friends, game night, at home with family, or taking care of the grandkids, she always enjoyed spending time with others. Her bright smile and quick wit made her the life of any party; and, she imparted knowledge and wisdom with a sense of humor. Joyce’s life was one of love and service to her Savior, her family, friends, and others. Even when she was in pain, she would, with a smile on her face, go out of her way to help others. Joyce was a blessing to all who knew her, and we are so grateful for the time we had with her.
Joyce is survived by husband, Ken Nibling; daughter, Stephanie Huzy and husband, David; sons, Mark Nibling, Scott Nibling and wife, Stephanie; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Huzy, Emily Huzy, Avery Nibling, Bryce Nibling, and Cara Nibling.
She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Richardson, Janelle Ealy, and Connie McCollum Ball.
