Reflection of Life
Joyce Marie Black Johnson was born in Tyler, Texas on February 9, 1942 to the parents of John L. Black and Lorene D. Black. She was raised in the Shady Grove Community of Tyler, Texas and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She graduated from Emmett J Scott High School in 1965. Mrs. Johnson worked for General Motors for 38 years and retired from there in 2016. She was married to Robert Johnson for 52 years and to this union they had 2 children, Roderick Johnson and Demargus Johnson.
She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. In her spare time she loved to read books, newspapers, watch movies and listen to music.

Joyce Marie Black Johnson was preceded in death by her grandfather Tommy Baker Sr. and her brothers Jerry Black, Paul Black, and Gary Black.

(Deloyce) Black Jr., Elvis Black and Jasper Black; sisters Ora Black, Bettie Browning, Bernita Black, Shelia (Bennie) Black Jackson, Sharon (Jesse) Ware and Jacqueline Black; nieces, nephews, brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s and a host of relatives and friends.
