Joe was born on June 28,1942 to Albert and Lilyan (Hasse) Reese in Hutchinson, MN. After Joe graduated from Kensington High School, in Kensington, MN he went on to study Physical Education at Gustavus Adolphus College and received his Masters in PE from the University of Indiana. He coached high school football for several years and then worked in the sports equipment sales industry and sports medicine field for over 20 years. He was Vice President of Mueller Sports Medicine for several years. He then became an owner and operator of ORECK vacuum stores in Tucson, AZ.
In retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and competing for yard of the month awards. Spending time with family, playing cards, and going on cruises with his wife, Rose, were some of his favorite pastimes. He volunteered for Citizens on Patrol for 6 years, continued to be an avid sports lover, and especially enjoyed anytime he and Rose could take a road trip.
He is survived by his wife Rose Reese; two children Cal Reese and Tracy (Stephen Bishop) Reese; his sister Ardith Anderson; his brother Al (Jean) Reese; former wife, Pat Belgum; nine nieces and nephews, four bonus children and their spouses, Laura (Ron) McGee, Shara (Joel) Fruits, Debra (Neil) Essen, Kenneth (Jessica) Rieke, ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister, Alice Reese Guilfoile.
