Johnny was born to Paula and John on October 4, 1979. Because of his father’s military career, he lived all over, even spent some time in Germany. After graduating high school in Belton TX, he went on to follow in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Marine Corps. He spent 5 years as a Harrier mechanic and generally learned how to be a badass. He was honorably discharged as Lance Corporal.
Johnny opted to skip school and join the workforce as a car salesman. This is where he found he had a natural talent for sales due to his amazing knowledge and expertise, he rose to General Sales Manager. The man could sell ice to a polar bear.
Johnny was not only a bad ass salesman and soldier, he was also a son, a brother, a proud father and the most doting husband. He met the love of his life, Avi Malaspina, in 2004, and later married in 2016. Together they raised Barrett Malaspina and were the perfect happy family. Johnny was a true artist at heart, he loved to paint, draw, write, and was a pretty good guitar player and often wrote his own music.
Johnny is survived by Avi Malaspina, his beloved wife, Barrett Malaspina, his proud son, Tessa, his sister and early partner in crime, Paula, his loving mother, and John Malaspina, the OG badass who Johnny wanted to be like.
The family of Johnny would like to extend our sincere thanks to Michael Coleman and everyone at Shomp BMW. Jon Fass for taking so much of your time for us. To Gabe and Amber, our extended family, your love and support and the video memorial. There’s so many of you that have come from all over to send your love, to all of you, thank you.
