Johnny Lee Jackson was born on January 14, 1937, to the parents of Lewis Charles, SR. (L.C.) and Ethel Mae Jackson in Jefferson, Texas. He attended Central High School where is was a great football player and loved sports.
Johnny joined the military The United States Air Force and served his country Honorably.
He met the apple of his eye and married Bessie Louise Jackson (Ms. “Lou”) and together they raised their only daughter Wanda Annette Jackson.
Johnny labored for many years at the Fertilizer Plant in North Fort Worth, Wafers Platter, Swan and later joined the Ben E. Keith Food Division and retired.
He was truly a Tom Landry only, Drew Pearson forever #88 Dallas Cowboy FAN-ATTIC.
Then his dream came true a grandson was born “Kenji Lee Treasure Jackson. The football journey continued.
Johnny united with Greater Saint Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, September 19, 2004 and served faithfully as a Wednesday night Bible Study Student, Member of the Brotherhood Auxiliary, Male Chorus Member, he was a W.W. and W.M.O.D. – Wise Women And Wise Men Of Distinction 65 and over Choir Member. He would lead the song “Said I Wasn’t Gonna Tell No Body But I”. Johnny was selected as the 2016 Man Of The Year at Great Saint Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.
Johnny was one of 16 siblings. Brothers, Louis Charles Jackson, Jr., Thurman, Verlin, Arnold and Willie preceded him in death; sisters, Alice, Betty Jean, Mildred, Ritha Mae and Lucy Mae preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory; daughter Wanda A. Jackson and husband Dwight C. Jackson; grandson, Kenji Lee Treasure Jackson; brothers, Milton Jackson (Alice) of Riverside, CA., Joe Jackson (Kim) of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Rose Mary (Richard Jarrett) and Shirley (David Cano); nephews, L. D. Johnson “Cookie” and wife Sharon and Landris L. Johnson; a host of relatives and friends. Special friends at Ben E. Keith and Ms. Carol Francis.
