Dr. John King Broussard, 84, of Bedford, died Sunday, July 23, 2023 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on January 17, 1939, in Oklahoma City, to Lucille Catherine and William Laurence Broussard. John was a graduate of St. Anthony High School in Beaumont and a graduate of St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston. He was ordained a priest in 1964 for service in the Diocese of Beaumont. After 9 years of service, and at the request of the Bishop, John attended Loyola University in Chicago where he earned his Master of Education in 1972. He went on to attend the University of Houston where he graduated with a Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology in 1982. After a career that spanned over four decades, John retired in 2018.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dianna Broussard of Bedford; son, Kevin Broussard of Watauga; and daughter, Kristen Broussard of Irving.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Rev. Msgr. William Landry Broussard; and sister, Lucille Margaret Broussard.
A private interment of ashes will be held for immediate family.
