Jerry was born in Dallas, Texas on November 15, 1941 to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Otis Nelson. He graduated from Poly Technical High School on June 1, 1960. He worked for decades in the garment industry. He was always a hard worker and full of life and most of all love. He really enjoyed fishing at Lake Texoma. We lost so much when we lost him, a husband, father, papa, great papa, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Lee Nelson and Mother, Leoma (Briggs) Nelson, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Maudie Virginia (Vandever) Nelson, daughters Bonnie Nelson of Burleson, Texas, Donna Cox and husband, Larry Cox of Arlington Texas, son Jerry Dwayne Nelson of Keller, Texas, grandson Eric Cox of Fort Worth, Texas, granddaughter Ashley Cox of Sacramento, California and 1 great granddaughter, sisters Doris McKnight of Arlington Texas, Patsy Price of Cleburne Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
