Jerry was born in Decatur Texas on February 1st, 1943.
Jerry attended Krum High School, Decatur Baptist College, and received teaching certificates from Texas A&M, and Tarrant County Junior College.
Jerry married Teresa McKinney on July 21, 1987. Jerry had a career in teaching for CF Brewer Middle School and Cleburne High School.
He was a member of the United States Golf Association and the Pecan Valley Golf Association.
Jerry’s passions included woodworking, music, and college football.
He was preceded in death by his father Edgar Eugene McKinney, mother Burtis McKinney, nephew Marshall Don Boyd and niece Carol Elana Boyd. He is survived by his wife Teresa McKinney, sons Jerl and James McKinney, daughter Jana McCollough, and stepchildren Alan and Jennifer Trammel.
Grandchildren include Catherine Larson, Kelly Heater, Evan and Lauren Porter, Cayley McCollough Purcell, Ryan and Karis McCollough, James McKinney, Jessica Mozjesik and Trey Trammel. Jerry’s brother and sister include Marshall Ray McKinney and Glenda McKinney Jones.
