Janie Elizabeth Stephens

She was born in Burleson on September 8, 1926. Janie graduated from Burleson High School in 1942.

Janie married J.V. Stephens on May 30, 1942. She was a life long homemaker who enjoyed needle work, working in her yard and crafting beautiful stained glass pieces, two of which can be seen at the Burleson Public Library. For many years she enjoyed working at the Burleson Visitor’s Center sharing her love and knowledge of Burleson history.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband, J. V. Stephens and survived by daughter Pamala Senter and spouse Kelly, son Jimmy (Jas) Stephens and spouse Holly and son Vic Stephens and spouse Heather, as well as grandchildren, JoAnn Gracey, Shannon Gadberry, Pon Hillier, Melody Wall, Cody Stephens, Harrison Fleming, Matthew Fleming and 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Janie will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 22, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A committal service will occur Friday, September 22, 2023 at Burleson Memorial Cemetery, 490 Memorial Plaza, Burleson, TX 76028.
