Jack Oliver Shannon Jr.

Jack Oliver Shannon, Jr., age 94, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in Fort Worth, TX. He will be entombed in the Shannon Private Family Mausoleum “Dedicated to the Glory of God with the Heartfelt Appreciation for Opportunities to Serve Others."

Jack is a former owner of the Shannon Funeral Chapels, Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery and Shannon Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Fort Worth Downtown Founders Lions Club and the Moslah Shrine Temple Bedouins Oriental Band, as well as the Stockyards Area Restoration Committee.

He is preceded in death by his wife Pat Shannon. Mr. Shannon is survived by his sons, Trey Shannon of Fort Worth, TX, Mike Shannon (Gayla) of Fort Worth, TX and daughter Patty Fenoglio (Richard)of Lynden, WA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Stefanie Shannon Nielson (Kent) of Dallas, TX, Carolyn Shannon Jones (Kristoffer) of Hallsville, TX, Nathan Fenoglio (Betsy) of Fort Worth. TX, Kara Fenoglio Boldt (Jon) of Ferndale, WA, and Alec Shannon of Fort Worth, TX., Great Grandchildren, Malcolm Nielson and Ramsey Nielson, Jaxson Jones, Conner Jones and Gracie Jones, Kali Fenoglio and Beatrix Fenoglio, and Eleanor Boldt, Lily Boldt, Henry Boldt and Max Boldt.

Mr. Shannon will lie in state on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 12pm-7pm at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 7301 E. Lancaster Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76112, for anyone who would like to pay respects to Mr. Shannon. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 beginning at 11am at St. John’s Church, 2401 College Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76110. Fr. Richard Moseley, SSC will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory may be made to Texas Tech Medical School, Ophthalmology Program or to a charity of your choice.
