Isabelle King, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother was born September 29, 1921 in the Norwegian-American community of Cranfills Gap, Bosque County, Texas. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith, before she moved at 9 months with her parents Wm. and Ina Bertelson and brother Cameron to Fort Worth, Texas. The family joined Grace Lutheran Church, where Isabelle was confirmed in the faith at 14 years of age. For the past several years she was the oldest member of that congregation. Isabelle was a student at Carter Riverside High School, and on June 25, 1939, she married C.H. King. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Carolynne and Deanna. C.H. passed away in 1976, and Isabelle continued working at Montgomery Wards until her retirement at age 60. She also continued to be an active member of her church, a member of their “Leisure Group,” and “Head Usher” for many more years. Isabelle enjoyed good health most of her long life – she was a breast cancer survivor – and a genuine friend to everyone she met. In her early 90’s she moved from her home to Weatherford, living with her daughter Deanna Kautz and grandson Chuck Kautz and family. Isabelle loved her family, and they loved her. After retirement, Isabelle travelled with her family, even so far as to Germany for Christmas and to Saudi Arabia for New Years in the home of her daughter Carolynne and husband Wayne Bechler. Her family loved her, and so did the people she encountered in those foreign lands. Isabelle died peacefully on November 12 in Weatherford, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband C.H. King, by her parents Wm. and Ina Bertelson, by her brother Cameron and wife Frances Bertelson, by her in laws Clifton and Crissie King, and by her son-in-law Kenneth Kautz. Isabelle is survived by her two daughters: Carolynne and husband Wayne Bechler, Deanna Kautz; granddaughter Maria and Jimmy Hughes, grandsons: Eric and Molly Bechler, Chuck and Rebekah Kautz, Keith and Jennifer Kautz. She is also survived by 8 great-grandsons and 8 great-granddaughters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held November 16, 2017 at Laurel Land Funeral Home between 6 PM – 8 PM; and on November 17, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church from 10 AM – 12 PM. Funeral Service will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 7900 McCart Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76123 at 1 PM with interment following at Moore Memorial Gardens 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76012. Memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church.
