Born on October 13, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the child of Ned and Verda Jordan. She graduated from Paschal High School and later received her nursing degree from TCU. She later become the head nurse on the Labor & Delivery floor of Harris Hospital for many years. She ended her career as an RN at Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells.
She is survived by her sons James R. Hunt III (and wife Denise) of Crowley, Don Hunt of Tampa, Florida, and Jackson Hunt of Azle. Helen is also survived by her wonderful seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James R. Hunt Jr. The couple were happily married for nearly 60 years. During these years, they made many wonderful friends in cities they lived in: Forest Hill, Nocona, Santo, Klondike, and Azle. Also, Helen’s 3 sisters Jeanette Frazer, Elizabeth McClure, both of Wichita Falls, and Nancy Rathke of Fort Worth, also preceded her in death.
Besides being a great mom and nurse, Helen played the piano (occasionally at church) and could also play the violin. She was a devout Christian with a strong faith in her Lord. For all those who knew her, there was never a nicer, kinder, sweeter, and gentler person who ever walked the face of the earth. She will be dearly missed.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Helen’s life on Thursday, March 27, for a graveside service at 2:00pm at Laurel Land in Fort Worth. There also will be a viewing available between 1:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. for those interested in attending. Our family appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support for all of you that knew her.
