Gloria L. Fyock

Funeral: January 6 2023 at St Mathew's Lutheran Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Paula Jefferson. She will be buried along side her Husband Charles B. Fyock that same day at the Dallas National Cemetery.

Mrs. Fyock was born on March 31, 1927 to Franklin Rixey & Deborah Evelyn Lake in Washington, D.C. She was their second daughter. Her Sister was born 11 years before her and was named Constance Evelyn Lake. Mrs. Fyock attended schools in Washington and received a high school diploma. She worked in Personnel at the General Accounting Office, worked in the Press Office in the West Wing of the White House during the Harry S. Truman Administration. She and her husband Charles married on August 17, 1946 while she was working in the White House and the President and Mrs. Truman gave them a lovely wedding present. While working there she went to Strayer’s Business College and took a number of business courses as well as Shorthand. She got a job as a Secretary in the Personnel Office for the Air Force in the Pentagon. She also worked in the Office for Atomic Energy and Public Relations in the Air Force.

When the war in Korea started the Air Force recalled her husband and they were sent to Eglin AFB in Valparaiso, Florida, Oklahoosa County. On April 30, 1953 a son was born to them which they named Jeffrey Charles Fyock. On May 4, 1955 a second son which they named Stephen Randall Fyock was born to them. They had many assignments in the Air Force. They were stationed in Topeka, Kansas, Fort Worth, Texas, Minot, North Dakota, Montgomery, Alabama, San Bernardino, California and San Antonio, Texas. She loved sewing, playing bridge and traveling with her husband of 59 years all over the world. She spent many hours socializing with all her friends from St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.

Survivors: Jeffrey Charles Fyock and his wife Jo Ann, Stephen Randall Fyock, his Daughter Dainya Nicole Brooks and husband Brian and their daughter Anelise and his son Charles Kendrick Fyock. Also cousin Laura Hill as well as a Niece Constance
