Family and friends will celebrate his life during a graveside service at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 3 PM.
Gary was born on July 20, 1943 to John Lewis and Lillie Myers in Mooreland, Oklahoma. He met his wife, Linda Lundberg Myers, while attending Oklahoma Christian University. They married on June 8, 1963. They relocated to Irving, Texas with their daughter, Lana, in 1969.
Gary worked as an accountant in the banking and financial industry throughout his career while cultivating his own tax and accounting business. Gary was referred to as “The Tax Man” and considered his clients extended family. Since retiring, Gary often said he did not miss keeping up with the tax code but he sure missed catching up with his wonderful friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his wife of thirty-nine years, Linda Myers, his parents, John Lewis and Lillie Myers, his sister, Mary Brown, his brother, Benne, and nephews, J.L. Myers and Richard Myers.
Left to cherish Gary’s memory are his daughter, Lana Myers-Lee, and her husband, Kerry Lee, and his two granddaughters, Darby and Dacey, of Allen, Texas, his brothers, Jay Myers, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Calvin Myers, of Joshua Tree, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
