Dorothy Lou Goodwin

Dorothy Lou Goodwin passed away on November 2, 2018 at her home in Arlington, Texas after a prolonged illness. She was born on January 11, 1930 in Leonard, Texas to Clarence C. and Lou Anna Partain, and was the youngest of 12 children. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.

She was married to Ellis Gerald Goodwin on March 12, 1960. They lived in Florida for 31 years where she was a devoted mother to 3 children and worked as the office manager for her son’s electrical contracting business. She enjoyed spending time with family, bowling, sewing and gardening. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Melbourne for 9 years prior to moving back to Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerald Goodwin, her son Mike K. Goodwin and wife Mary of Indialantic, Florida, her daughter Lori E. Chandler and husband Randy of Crawfordville, Florida, and her daughter Lisa A. Wabbersen and husband Chuck of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to The Alzheimer’s Association, North Central Texas Chapter 2630 W. Fwy Suite 100, Fort Worth, TX 76102.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00.
