He was born in Marshall, Texas on December 23, 1944 and moved to Fort Worth in 1951. He graduated from Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth in 1962. He married Trudy, his wife of forty-nine years on October 9, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas.
He enjoyed going on camping trips with the Boy Scouts where he was an Assistant Scout Master. He and his son Jerry enjoyed lots of canoe trips and cookouts. He also enjoyed square dancing and attending hundreds of softball, basketball and football games in support of his beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Trudy, his parents, several brothers and sisters and his granddaughter, Melissa.
He is survived by his son, Jerry and wife, Paula; grandson, Zack; brother, Delbert; many other loving nieces, nephews and family members.
Visitation, services and burial will all be held at Laurel Land in Fort Worth on Friday, December 16, 2022 beginning with visitation and a reception from 1:00p – 2:45p and concluding with a graveside service at 3:00p.
