Diane was born June 1, 1943 to Alfred (Shuggie) and Eva Dale Cohen in Monroe, Louisiana. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School where she served as president of her junior class, vice president of her senior class, and president of the Pink Darlings. In addition, she was the reporter for the Coyote News and Teen Times Staff and was named as a senior favorite. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she met her beloved husband, Joe. They married Sept. 5, 1965 and in their 45 years together had three children.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, parents, Alfred (Shuggie) and Eva Dale Cohen, mother in law, Josie, father in law, Joe Drago, brother, Richard Cohen, and grandson, James Goggans. She is survived by her son, Joseph and wife, Heather, son, Jon and wife Jenni, daughter, Sarah and husband Brandon, brother David and wife Alma, sister in law Grisselle, grandchildren, Renee and husband, Donovan, Gabriella, Nick, Emma, Caroline, Sophie, and Lance and great grandchildren, Cora and Shae.
Diane was a long time, much loved member of the Fort Worth community. She was an active member of the Woman’s Club of Fort Worth, Club Fidelite, Keno, and several bridge groups. She worked at Country Day Travel for many years, which gave her the opportunity to see the world, explore new places and make new friends. She had a deep passion for travel and would bring home a souvenir doll from every place she visited. She was the kindest, most generous soul and to know her was to love her. She was especially known for her excessive apologizing, extravagant meals, and charitable spirit. Her grandchildren would like to add that she was a master at making toast! She will be missed by so many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3312 Dryden Road, followed by interment at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth with a short prayer service at 5 p.m.
