Connie Fannin

Connie FANNIN, age 73, of Fort Worth, Texas. Connie was born November 28, 1946 in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was the eldest of six born unto Arleanor and the late George Washington, Sr. Connie was brought up in a Baptist home attending the Mount Olive Baptist Church, devoting her time to singing in the church choir and going to bible studies with her siblings. As time passed she gained her strength and responsibility with helping take care of her siblings, cooking and maintaining her grades at North Gulfport High School. Taken by the music she decided to join the North Gulfport band playing the saxophone; in which she became the highest ranked band officers by popular vote. Along with playing saxophone she was known to have a keen eye in drawing and a creative imagination with needle and thread. Soon after graduating, Connie moved to Fort Worth, Texas with her Aunt Maggie. There she became more than just independent from riding the bus, to learning how to drive and even getting her first job as an elevator tec. She even started combining her talent with drawing and sewing to make whole outfits. A couple of years later she met and married her husband Proncel Fannin and gave birth to two beautiful girls, Teri and Wanita. Upon those years of becoming a wife and mother she instilled family values to last a lifetime that surely involved putting God first. Connie attended what is now called New Harvest Missionary Baptist Church on her spiritual journey to ererlasting life. She was caring, loving and welcomed everyone in her home. Her loved expanded throughout the neighborhood. Connie's home was "the home" whether it was family gatherings, parties, fun in the sun with the kids or meetings. It was always a great time. On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, God called her home and relieved her of her hindering body. Those awaiting her arrival are her loving daughter, Teri Fannin Jones and her father, George Washington, Sr. As we reminisce on the memories imprinted on us by her beautiful soul. We will always and forever live through her by her husband Proncel Fannin; daughter Wanita Thompson (Robert); grandchildren, Delvin Fannin, Tatiana Fannin, Keenan Fannin, Chanel Thompson; great-grandchildren, Ra'Nia Morgan, Daviana Brown, Jaylen and Leanna Tatum; brothers, George (Graylon) Washington, Jr., Kemp Washington (Cathiny); sisters, Audrey Simon (Sidney), Dinah McCaan (Arthur), Beverly McCray (Will); and all of her nephews, nieces that were a part of her life and memory.
