Andy was raised in Edgecliff Village, a small subdivision in Fort Worth, Texas where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1979, and followed with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Texas Wesleyan in 1985 (Go Rams). He spent the majority of his professional career in the Credit and Finance Sector, spending the past years as a Senior Underwriter for TAB Bank.
Andy had a deep passion for all things music: he enjoyed a variety of genres, mastered the art of playing guitar/bass guitar and venturing into guitar fabrication from his “music studio”, affectionately dubbed Poppi’s Custom Guitars
He is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Lee Meroney in 2005, as well as his stepfather Richard Durham in February of this year.
He will be greatly missed by his remaining family; his wonderful wife of 27 years, Mary Meroney, as well as his mother Beverly Durham, and his 3 children, Christa and Aaron Meroney, Blake Tucker, and their respective spouses Justin, Ashli, and Priscilla.
The greatest joys of Poppi’s life were his grandchildren – all 6: Olan and Jonathon Lehman, and Zeik, Ethan, Iris, and Paige Tucker.
Andy was a pillar of strength and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew him through his humor, gentle spirit, and unwavering love. As a devoted husband, father, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and immense joy. His wisdom and generosity knew no bounds. Though he may be gone, his love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
A visitation gathering for Andrew will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
