FORT WORTH -- Amy Duarte Barajas, 88, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Mesquite. Service: 3 p.m. Friday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of choice. Amy was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Forreston to Merced and Maria Duarte. Amy had three brothers, Crispin, Merced Jr. and Cosme, and two sisters, Anita and Marie. Amy married M.B. "Buck" Barajas on Dec. 1, 1941, and lived their entire married life in Fort Worth. Amy and Buck worked side by side for almost 40 years as owners of Circle Shoe Repair in Fort Worth. They were also very involved in the Lions Club and Shriners, where Amy was a Daughter of the Nile. They traveled the world together attending many conventions and club events. Amy had five children, 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Buck, and one son, Philip. Survivors: Daughters, Olivia Hernandez and husband, Joe, of Garland and Rosemary Gonzales and husband, Joe, of Fort Worth; sons, Richard Barajas of Fort Worth and John Barajas and wife, Barbara, of Houston.
