Born on April 14, 1941 in Spring Branch, TX, Amado grew up in Temple, TX and was affectionately known as “Moe” by his family and friends. He was a man of great character, kindness and generosity. He spent his life dedicated to his family and his work, spending over 35 years pridefully working at American Airlines. He was truly committed with an unwavering love for his family.
Amado Sr. was a devoted husband to his wife, Aurelia, for over 62 years and a loving father to his children, Amado Jr, Lucinda, Yolanda, and Daniel. One of his greatest joys was spending time and caring for his grandchildren, Kristen, Ashlyn, Maddie, Alyssa, and Louis.
Throughout his life, Moe was known for his kind heart, warm humor, and strong work ethic, as well as his love for the Dallas Cowboys, UT Longhorns, Tejano Music, Oldies, watching old Westerns and NFL Football on TV, and the hottest hot sauce. He will be remembered for his affectionate laugh and his good-natured personality. He was a very humble man and was highly respected, a source of strength, stability, comfort, and warmth to so many and his legacy will live on through his family and all of those whose lives he touched.
Amado Sr is preceded in death by his father, Pablo Flores; his mother, Dominga Rodriguez; and step-father, Florensio Rodriguez; and his grandparents, Fermin and Cresencia Ramirez, who had a big part in his upbringing.
He is survived by his wife, Aurelia; son, Amado Flores Jr., and wife Vidalina, of Keller, TX; daughter, Lucinda Bussard, and husband Terry, of Lewisville, TX; daughter, Yolanda Flores of Fort Worth, TX; and son, Daniel Flores, and wife Tanya, of Fort Worth, TX. Grandchildren: Kristen Flores, and husband Colin Jacobsen, of New York, NY; Ashlyn Hall, and husband Brandon, of Hurst, TX; Madeline Flores of Dallas, TX; Alyssa Flores of Fort Worth, TX; and Louis Bussard of Lewisville, TX.
Brothers: Father Florencio Rodriguez TOR of Austin, TX; Fermin Rodriguez of Dallas, TX; Roger Flores of Fresno CA; Pablo Flores Jr of Toledo OH; Moses Flores of San Antonio, TX; and Joe Flores of Laredo, TX. Sisters: Mary Jessica Lopez of Fort Worth, TX; Dolores Moreno of Fort Worth, TX; Mary Helen Rodriguez of Temple, TX; Gloria Rodriguez of Lubbock, TX; and Rachel Webber of Perrysburg, OH; as well as many other family members.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth, TX from 4pm-8pm, with a Rosary at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at St Rita Catholic Church in Fort Worth, TX at 11am with Father Florencio Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
