He was formally employed at Preferred Incorporated for 18 years and then worked for Walmart for 12 years.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Susan C. (Burke) Hoffman, a son, Jason Hoffman; step-daughters, Regina (Robert) Thomas and Leila Wheaton; a brother, Neil Hoffman; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Steele; a brother, Eddie Hoffman; a step son-in-law, Kevin Wheaton.
A visitation for Walter will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana, followed by a funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery, 2403 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
