SHARON (CHAFFIN) (MEITZ) FREON, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She graduated from North Side High School in 1957. She was employed in nursing at Parkview Hospital for 19 1/2 years. Upon retirement, she worked at Lutheran Social Services, Council on Aging, and as a Realtor with Better Homes & Gardens. She was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Henry; children, Tamberle (Jeff) Kumfer of Columbia City, Wendi (Tim) Burkhart of Churubusco, Dawn Meitz of Fort Wayne and Paul Chad (Laurie) Meitz of California; stepchildren, David (Tanya) Freon, Chris Freon and Robert (Shannon) Freon, all of Fort Wayne, and Sandra Lynn (James) Weeks of Alaska; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Trinity English Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice or Lewy-Body Dementia Association.
