ROBERT C. "BOB" KUMFER, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. Born Dec. 24, 1935, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late James Kumfer and Goldie (Rice) Kumfer. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at Food Marketing for 49 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 414. He loved to be outside, and staying busy working in his shed through every season. He was an avid I.U. fan. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Ruth (Ashton) Kumfer of Fort Wayne; sons, Jeff Kumfer of Glendale, Ariz. and Scott Kumfer of Fort Wayne; stepson, Rodney Earlywine of Fort Wayne; stepdaughters, Ronda (Mark) Schmitz, Robin (Tom) Mohr and Rikki (Rafael) Colo'n, all of Fort Wayne, and Reggie (fiancee, Michael DePew) Lawlor of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; grandchildren, Melisa, Lindsay, D.J., Shaelli, Riley, Julian, Amelia, and Olivia; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Alexis, Elijah, Aleah, Mason, Micah, Andrew, Amaya, and Alannah; sister, Wanda Hart of Churubusco. He was also preceded in death by two sisters; and five brothers. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Rafael Colo'n officiating. Visitation is from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
