Robert Wilson King Jr., 78, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born April 14, 1944 in Fort Wayne, son to the late Robert Wilson and Elizabeth King, Sr. Robert was a graduate of South Side High School and an U. S. Air Force veteran. He worked in quality control at Lockheed Martin Corporation. Surviving are his wife, Melody L. (Thieme) King of Fort Wayne; son, Christopher King of Fort Wayne; sister, Carolyn Botts of Fort Wayne; and two nephews, Jason and Eric Botts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Della Kay Thieme. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 South Anthony Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46806 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation for Robert will also be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809. Burial will be at I. O. O. F. Cemetery, New Haven. Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to DeKalb Humane Society and the American Legion Post 296.
