Richard Edward Rekeweg

Richard Edward Rekeweg, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Richard was born March 29, 1933 in Woodburn, Indiana, son to the late William C. and Louise (Kammeyer) Rekeweg. Richard was a 1951 Ossian High School Graduate, U. S. Army Veteran, and retired in 1995, after working in the HVAC industry for 39 years. He was a member of the Local #166 and a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Surviving him are his wife of 70 years, Betty Rekeweg; children, Jonathan (Jennifer) Rekeweg of Fort Wayne and Anne (Jeff) Conway of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Ashley (Andy) Parker, Brandi (Josh) Timmons, Zachary (Destina Easley) Rekeweg, Megan (Philip) Ulrich, Haley Conway, and Brooke (Aaron) Gipson; great-grandchildren, Ava Parker, Alivea Parker, Carter Timmons, Kynzie Timmons, and Leo Timmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Rekeweg, Adelbert Rekeweg, Edgar Rekeweg, Herman Rekeweg, Ernest Rekeweg, and Alfred Rekeweg; and sisters, Elsie Rekeweg, Luella Gerling, Gerda Hudgens, Eldora Schueller, Margaret Gerber, Bernice Mock, and Milda Steele. Visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
