Rachel Mary Sewell

Rachel Mary Sewell, age 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Parkview Randallia on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Born February 9, 1938 in Biddeford, Maine, she was a daughter of Adrien Joseph and Elinor Angeline Boucher.

Rachel was a graduate of the class of 1955 of St. Andres Catholic School. In 1963, she met the love of her life, Donald Wayne Sewell, and the two were married August 22, 1964. They were happily married until his passing in 1996. A natural born teacher, she retired after 30 years with FWCS, the majority of those years at Louis C. Ward Elementary School. She leaves as her legacy four children, Lisa Anne (Dan) Bradley of Fort Wayne, Dawn Marie (Mark) Zamboni of Pittsburgh, PA, Shawn Joseph (Vickie) Sewell of Fort Wayne, and Kelly Jeanne (Philip) Butler of Waterloo, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Adrienne Gendron of Biddeford, ME, brothers-in-law, Paul Szlosek of Kennebunk, ME, and James Sewell of San Juan, Puerto Rico. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

A funeral service to honor Rachel's memory with be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
