Philip Joseph Robertson, “Shakey”, 80, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went home to be with Jesus, on November 25, 2021, after a long and happy life. Phil was born on March 31, 1941, to Richard and Maxine Robertson, both of Fort Wayne. Phil was a truck driver and drove for several companies throughout his career, a job he truly enjoyed. Phil will be remembered for his radiantly, joyful smile, humor, and most importantly, his tender and giving heart. Phil had the ability to love others unconditionally and see value in them no matter their background. He was a loyal and loving friend, and seemed to know everyone in Fort Wayne. He never cared about material things but instead focused on loving people. He loved and cared for so many, especially his two granddaughters, Alexis and Madison, who brought him so much joy, but his number one was always his daughter, Dawn. The two formed a bond of love that will never be broken, even by death. Phil is survived by his daughter Dawn (Brett) Staton, and his granddaughters, Alexis and Madison Staton. Phil also had 4 step-children he loved very much, Lorraine (Doug) Weddle, Brian (Marla) Day, Carla (Jimi) Staton, and Billy Day, and several step-grandchildren he adored. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Higley and JoEllen Pickering; and his brothers Richard, Michael, and Kenny Robertson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom, Jim and John. Please join the family for a Homegoing Service on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 am. The service will be held at Advantage Funeral & Cremation, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorial contributions in Philip's honor may be made to the family in care of Dawn Staton.
