Michael Wylie McLaughlin Sr., age 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, died Monday, June 7, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Michael was born December 28, 1937, in Fort Wayne, the son of John Wylie McLaughlin Sr. and Dorothy McLaughlin. He graduated from Northside High School in 1956 and married the love of his life, Carol Cook, on July 7, 1962. For 32 years he was dedicated to his work at Central Supply Co. and after retirement spent 20 years managing St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Michael was proud of his Irish heritage, was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather, and was very active in his church of 59 years, St. John’s Lutheran where he served as a trustee for 21 years. He had a special love for Marble Lake in Quincy, MI where he and his family spent summers for 50 years. Surviving are his wife, Carol (nee Cook), his children Carla (David) McLaughlin-Kane of Ortonville, MI, Michael (Nancy) McLaughlin of Fox Point, WI, John (Tracie) McLaughlin of Fort Wayne, IN; his grandchildren Marissa, Caroline and Samuel Kane, Lane and Michael McLaughlin and Emily, Megan and John (Jack) McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Wylie McLaughlin Jr, of Angola, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St John's Lutheran Cemetery or St John's Lutheran Church, 729 W. Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN, 46802. Funeral services to be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church. 729 W. Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN on June 15, 2021, visitation starting at 10:00 am and service at 12:00 pm.
